Devlog 2 - Lights and AI and an Easter Egg?
Day 2
Well since my last devlog, I've added a few things First of all I added a main menu, basic but it gets the job done, so I can now focus on the gameplay instead of spending all of my time on it. I also worked on a new fog of war system similar to Prison Architects Fog of War. The idea is that if you cant see something, you wont see it and its easily shown. To do this I used the lighting system. I created a small light on the player and had it emit constantly and get blocked by walls, so the player can see everything around them clearly. Then I added a red light to the robots, to make it a bit more evil looking.
Additionally the AI has been redesigned from a circle to a square, to be more simplistic but more evil looking. Ill show pictures of this and the lighting system at the bottom of the devlog. Additionally I redid some of the AI as it kept annoying me so now its a bit better at chasing the player and attacking.
Additionally since easter eggs are a new rating category for this jam, I decided to add one early by... Hang on, its best I don't reveal it yet. Although it could be good for others, I don't want to spoil the fun of finding it just yet.
